Wouldn’t be too many Skoda’s getting around Townsville, hey Hilly?
I love when you visit somewhere like Germany and the taxi’s are Merc’s and Skoda’s. And the driver can speak English!

It's funny how people have different opinions about cars...
I think the ASX (2 litre FWD) is noisy, slow, the front end thumps over potholes badly, the steering is dead and it uses more fuel than a 2 litre motor should (ex bought one new and I drove it a lot... too much actually).

Where as the Camry 2.5 litre which I had for a company car sat flatter through corners, had a better ride, accelerated better than the ASX, used no more fuel, had more comfortable seats and was quieter.

The Corolla is jiggly and old feeling in low end models but better in the ZR (but then it's over priced), the ex replaced the ASX with a ZR and I've had low end rentals.

The Yaris is noisy on the highway and the 4 speed auto makes the car rev too high but in manual form at $15,999 drive away it's reliable and cheap city transport (the Jazz is a better light car though).

But the ASX good?  really?  It's a 10 year old cut and shut job on the old Outlander platform (which in 2 litre form is the only car worse in it's class than the ASX!).

I can't comment on that particular Audi but Audi, VW and Skoda are generally nice to drive (even if the DSGs aren't the most reliable and VW cheat on emmisions figures).

Well interestingly enough the CEO of Audi was arrested last night over his involvement with the diesel saga. Mercedes are also now involved....what is it with germans and gassing people...LOL

Driving in the States = righty tighty, leftie loosey. Keep to the right hand side turning right, and go wide when turning left. Or another way of looking at it is keep the passenger close to the kerb. You are bound to fuck up at some stage and take off on the wrong side of the road. Also you are allowed to turn right on a red light providing it's safe. Sometimes you will come to a crossroad and each road has a stop sign on it when this happens whoever gets there first goes first ,it seems to work.

I do that route every 2 years,
    between Vegas and Phoenix,
Hoover Dam, pay the $10 for the parking after you cross the dam, saves you a bit of walking
cruise on to Williams for the night, (old route 66 town) great steak houses, next morning, up to Tusayan for the Grand Canyon, will still get to Phoenix before night

the worse place that will catch you out driving is car parks, you will reverse out and straight away drive down the left
