I’d be expecting the retailer to either replace or refund. The retailer takes it up with their supplier or the manufacturer. Not your problem. I know what I’d want to do with the cans of spray paint they gave you...

That brand of exhaust has received all sorts of bad reviews on yankee forums

    100%
You should still be in warranty anyways, Magnaflow should replace at no expense to Rollies.
Just insist on it mate, might be a fairly robust conversation but you’re within your rights to a bit more than a few cans of paint.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I’d email it direct to Rollies along with photos of the exhaust. C.C the dealer & even Magnaflow themselves to keep them in the loop. Simply ask how one should initiate the process of a warranty claim ASAP.

Ahhh.. the old ‘we’re not covering the warranty’ from the importer.. yeah, fck em and go straight to the manufacturer.
I did it with Fender guitars and a $6000 guitar (Fender US built me a custom guitar after Fender Aus said go jump), did it with Gibson guitars, did it with Apple.. I’m a persistent a-hole ??

Here’s some info to arm yourself with if they try to use the usual roadblocks. http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au
You’ve got a manufacturers warranty and a national law both on your side.

    Keep us posted.

My V & H big rads have gone the same way mate discoloured heat shields,(same bike ) the pipes are out of warranty but decided to contact V & H direct by email several times using there website and still waiting for a reply from 4 weeks ago. So I have looked into getting them ceramic coated by a local guy at Pooraka around $300 to do it but have also pondered about putting on some different pipes. Tax time just around the corner

If you like the pipe I would spend some $$$ getting it blasted and ceramic coated.
My V&H pipes were in mint condition with over 40,000km on them. I rode for about 2 weeks straight in near constant rain and they started to show signs of pitting and paint thi similar to yours but no way near as bad.

Curious though, what did Rollies suggest to clean it with?

Strange, the same spotty looking corrosion is also on the cylinder/head fins.
I love the black look, but chrome is usually a much sturdier finish
