    Hi all
I have a 2017 softail slim s bought in December, at the time the shop added some mods one being the Arlen Ness Ness Comp exhaust. After two months there was noticable signs of heat discoloration around the heads, bottom near the engine and on top of the silencer. So I rode down to the dealer and spoke to the parts guy, after taking pictures we emailed Rollies speed shop the distributor. The following day i received a call from the dealer to tell me Rollies has replied and i was using the wrong cleaner on the pipes to which i replied what water!!
So last week we sent more pictures the heads of the pipe are now red rust pitted and the heatshield connection to the silencer is the same. We recieved an email once again from Rollies telling me how to care for pipes and all pipes are checked before leaving the warehouse. I called them later that day and to cut a long story short was told that all of this is to be expected and as a measure of good will they would send some spray cans free of charge.
Anyone else had a problem with Ness or Rollies

I've seen a few pipes go like this, different brands.  My first thought was salt (live by the sea?) so you'ld need to wash your bike more.  But, I would have thought a greater area would be effected???  Or maybe not.

Don't know where that is, but I'm thinking France.  Anyhoo, garaged doesn't mean jack, it collects the salt from the air when you ride.  The pipes might just be the most easily effected and the pattern is dictated by the airflow.

Or it could be something else....

Steal has not been prepped properly either wasn't cleaned before spraying or had something spilled on it and quickly wiped off ... or even poor quality steal. Magna flow should swap  'em out.

Off course you could be using the wrong water

that dont look right at all , and spray cans is pretty piss poor response .
they probably had quite a few turn out like that .
Id search other forums to see if its happening to others chances are yes

checked site , they say made in USA . some pipes are stainless and coated , some are mild steel

alot of dough for pipes . Idk but facebook seems to be the place everyone goes  .
maybe go on their page with pics and ask followers if they have the problem and ask what they recommend , be a subtle pain in the arse .
folks can make up their own mind on what theyre seeing .
let the company say publicly that they will post out cans of paint to all , that alone should make their pipes NOS in the warehouse .

I will check, might be two places, as last time I had my pipes coated was Guilford or that area. I always get my pipes silver as has alloy in it and can polish them, the finish comes out like polished alloy.
but I notice a lot like flat colours, I love gloss.
I will find out if they are at Rydalmere now , or might be two. I'll be getting custom pipes made and coated for my build.
but I think you should get replacement from Rolly's as looks like factory second.

+1 , Rollies have always been brilliant in the dealings I’ve had. Did you contact Rollies yourself or have you just liaised through the dealer? Might be worth phoning them direct mate.

I’d be expecting the retailer to either replace or refund. The retailer takes it up with their supplier or the manufacturer. Not your problem. I know what I’d want to do with the cans of spray paint they gave you...
That brand of exhaust has received all sorts of bad reviews on yankee forums
