    Hi Killerchef,
I have not done this yet, but I have investigated it. king Chops knows a lot about this btw.

The cost I was quoted was Starting at $2500 +/-  they will replace as a minimum, all fluids (brake and oils), and the tyres....but you will know this from your previous experiences.

Follow this link to http://raws.infrastructure.gov.au/raws_online_guide.htm , and on this page you will see the vehicle checklists and on the left side are a bunch of links, on one link you will find a link to locate a RAWS workshop. The link is down right now, but there are a couple of RAWS authorised workshops in WA.

This link will enable you to check if your bike is approved http://raws.infrastructure.gov.au/motorcycles/index.htm

This is a very interesting page, it concerns the move to put before Parliament changes to the current legislation to enable people to do this easier!

    https://infrastructure.gov.au/vehicles/mv_standards_act/index.aspx

    Here are the highlights:-

On 7 February 2018, the Minister for Urban Infrastructure and Cities, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, introduced the Road Vehicle Standards package of Bills into the House of Representatives. The Bills, and Explanatory Memorandum for each of the Bills, are available on the Parliament of Australia website:
The Government will make refinements to the Rules to respond to feedback from Registered Automotive Workshops during the consultation process, including:

the need for the Rules to more clearly define a vehicle variant and the extent of customisation and modification allowable before a vehicle is provided to the market
calls from the Registered Automotive Workshops to permit importation of suitable used vehicles for the purposes of verifiable conversion to a campervan or mobile home
refinements to the parameters defining a specialist and enthusiast vehicle - such as simplifying the power to weight performance threshold, providing more eligible vehicle variants, and allowing for the continued importation of enthusiast left hand drive heavy vehicles.

There is not a lot I could find regarding motorcycles but I did not read everything.......

Like Keith, I dealt with Doug, and he was very very helpful. Have your VIN ready when you contact him:-

Muzza - had no issues at all last time. chopa- was part of forum not sure if he is still here -  imported it for me & went through foyts for compliance. This time keen to find out costs from mobs here vs extra cost of transporting over from east as budget is tight.
