Heated grips or heated gloves, that is the question.

Never had heated grips or heated gloves. S'pose they have their place, for riders who suffer from arthritis and other jazz like that. Just too expensive for me, not needed as yet, and just one more piece of bloody electrical equipment that could possibly fuck up.
Yeah, I do ride in the winter in Victoria, not just to pub, and yeah I do feel the cold. My main concern is keeping my focus on reaction function time, on the mainframe computer in the cold. (head aches ) Like before hypothermia sets in.
Used to work up towers/masts in snow, bloody Wind chill shits me, but certainly wouldn't put those plastic bicycle hand guards on my ride. each to their own, but I"l laugh at you.

    I can't believe you blokes.

Come and ride in Tassie in winter, lots of us do and I'm yet to see heated gloves or grips on a Harley yet.

A few chicks I know have heated grips but no men.

I have them on my bike from thw previous owner. Great on a cold night, I find I need to keep my fist closed on the grip to keep the hands warm. If I take my hand off the grip I lose the heat and then I have to vuild it up again.

Ha ha. This thread has me totally intrigued. Seems it's ok to keep upper body warm with long shirt & jacket, legs warm with long pants, feet warm with thick socks & sealed boots, head/face warm with bandana or visor. But any talk of keeping hands warm has some labelling others as wimps - bizarre.
Maybe the next discussion could be that having an aftermarket comfortable seat means you're soft too.... LOL.

I think those that don't need/want/bag out hand warmers are those that have fairings on their bikes that stop the cold wind hitting their hands. I don't have a fairing so my hands (and my vagina) are exposed to the cold.
Anyway it would seem that hand warmers and testosterone go hand in hand.

Fatboy doesn't come with heated grips. I thought about getting them fitted but the mechanic at Harley said it's a 4 hour job and not really worth it. Now with cooler weather, winter gloves really don't cut it. Rode last weekend and hands froze. Today I bought a set of heated gloves with a small battery in each glove they are nice and warm. What do you people do here for winter warmth? Some won't ride I suppose, but even in autumn and spring here we have some cool but good riding days.

Once you have experienced heated grips, it's hard going without them,
