Fatboy doesn't come with heated grips. I thought about getting them fitted but the mechanic at Harley said it's a 4 hour job and not really worth it. Now with cooler weather, winter gloves really don't cut it. Rode last weekend and hands froze. Today I bought a set of heated gloves with a small battery in each glove they are nice and warm. What do you people do here for winter warmth? Some won't ride I suppose, but even in autumn and spring here we have some cool but good riding days.

Fitted Heat Demons Grip Warmers  , takes them a few minutes to warm up but they work for me.

Just went through that same thing, gloves with battery are warm when you put them on but don't handle the wind chill well in Canberra. Fitted heated grips and they get very warm but the wind chill still takes a toll on fingers but better than the gloves, I have seen heated gloves that plug in to a socket installed on the bike that have heaters in the fingers that might work but expensive. I am trying to work on deflectors for the hands in combo with the grips.

Ah pauly, weren't not all lucky bastards........ Ferrett, that fucken Canberra can be cold. Even colder then some of the politicians hearts.....

I installed heated grips myself, it did take around 4 hours/beers to install heater elements, switch & run through wiring, one of the best mods I have ever done. Two heat settings, on the highest cannot touch the grips with bare hands but with gloves on & travelling 120kph down the Hume Hwy in winter it is nice & toasty. All this means is that I can ride longer - that's what it's all about.

I have heated grips because when it's really cold I lose feeling in a couple of fingers and it gets painful in others, bad circulation. Fingers in vaginas is good but only works when still attached to the women and that creates control issues for riding, close your eyes and see the vision trying to grab the clutch and brake. Priced harley heated grips at $420 plus fitting $300 more, got some oxford for $130 and fitted myself. Not as tidy as harley ones but I cut the wires to length and used smaller connectors to make it neater but still have the ugly cable's to the grips, 5 settings that I start on high and turn down progressively as they get too hot even with gloves. Just got to work on something to deflect the air off the fingers, at 120 kph the wind chill drags the heat right out of the fingers.

Not really winter yet, but I can't ever remember thinking my hands were cold when wearing the winter gloves.  Short memory maybe?
