I  have a 2014 softail standard FXST with screaming eagle pro super tuner, slipon mufflers and air cleaner, I've just upgraded the exhaust system to Vance and Hines big shots and would like to know if the current stage 1 map is suitable for the V&H big shots upgrade, I've purchase the cabling for the SEPST to remap the ECU to a stage 1 and I believe I have found the closest map Calibration # 68 File name 176AF104 so if I install this map would the bike be running on the lean side or would the ECU compensate for the upgrade. Bakes has done a really good write up on using  the SEPST which will help me install the map but I'm having trouble getting my head around the last bit after recording the test ride and fine tuning the bike so I was thinking of just installing the stage 1 map and leaving the bike for now until I get my head around the rest of the tuning I would like to this myself but I don't want to kill the bike in the process. thanks in advance

As a newbie, I to have a Stage One [SE], But I cant say I see any difference with my bike FXSB say compared to my mates Street Glide, stock 103.

Went to a different HD dealer for service last week, mentioned that I was unhappy with the off throttle/change down response [burping/farting etc].

They said after testing, it was a base tune installed and tried to rectify my issues. [1 hour three test rides].

The first 250k's were ok, the bike ran smoother, then after a new tank of gas it would appear its gone back to its old ways!

    So my questions are:

    a) Is a base tune a default setting? i.e reverts back to that?

    b) If Ive modified the bike [pipes/air cleaner] does that make a difference [I assume it would?] The 2nd dealer knew of such mod's.

    c) The only true way to rectify the issue is a Dyno tune?

    Appreciate feedback/comments

Stevo FXSB, do you have the cables to attach your 'orange' Super Tuner Pro to your PC? if not. get them mate and download the software. Have a read thru the link I posted previously to get more of an understanding.
As to the cal. loaded into your bike now - you can only presume it's the correct tune for your bike at this stage if you don't know what it is.
I did a few smart tunes on my 17SGS after getting advice off blokes like Hilly and Retro on here (very knowledgable guys) and can say my bike accelerates smoother and feels a bit 'crisper' all over - and it didn't change after a few runs. I presume you changed your pipes and a/c before the stage 1 cal was loaded and them smart tuned after that? That's the way it should be done.
I would definitely ensure your pipes aren't leaking at the heads or joins, and there is nothing misaligned or loose on your a/c though to rule air leaksout.
Learn to use the Super Tuner Pro mate, it gets easier over time. I know guys will say that a dyno tune is the best way to go, but if your bike only runs good for a few days - there is something else going on and you may waste your money getting it dyno'd yet
