Nah Sydney Frasers. These new models aint moving very well from what I'm told.

They gambled that they could shift most of them to the new and improved softail range and pick up some new younger riders and I don't think it's working.

I reckon they've lost the interest of a big chunk of their rider base who liked the dynas, the new softails aren't different enough to attract younger riders and the Street range (whilst it's not tanking) isn't selling well enough to make up the slack.

spot on, I'm a young bloke. All I wanted was a tough as dyna for years. I cut my teeth on sporties and custom choppers now I'm having the best time on my Low Rider S. A proper modern classic.

If I had to pick a bike today that would be as fondly remembered as the FXR is now in 20 years time I'd bet on the Lowrider S 110.

As for the Softail guys, I don't have a problem with them but how many people do you see talking about the 110S Softail model the way they talk about the Lowrider S?

Not many from what I've seen, I've said before and I'll say it again, if they had to drop one of the model ranges then it should have been the Softail and NOT the dynas.

    Pretty much right Rodders.

Under the Fosters Group ownership we lowered the alc from 4.9 to 4.6 to save a few bucks on excise, and there was all but rioting in the streets.
SAB Miller (the Sth Africans) bought out CUB in 2011 and one of their first changes was to revert VB back to its old recipe. We even posted a full page apology in all the News Ltd tabloids! The loyal drinkers came back on board, but damage had been done and drinkers had discovered other beers.
    You’re spot on.
Interesting times for HD who need to engage a new generation of riders without disenfranchising the core consumer base they currently have.

VB lowering the alcohol content of the beer put heaps of loyal drinkers I know off the product. Would have put me off it too if it was my beer of choice.
Anyway consider this. My local pub some time ago put on a beer tasting competition. You got served a smallish (maybe 8oz) beer of the 10 most popular beers currently being served at the time. In a glass with no indication what it was. You were given a list of ten beers that were getting served up and had to say what each served beer was on the list.
Most people got 2 out of 10. The stout and the cascade pale ale, because one was dark in colour the other very pale. The bloke who won the competition claimed to be normally a non drinker, he got 3 out of 10. There was an uncomfortable silence amongst the keen drinkers afterwards.

They dropped the Dyna *and* Softail frames. They only kept the name 'Softail'.

The rear frame/swingarm is the problem with the new frames. It looks like a WL rather than a UL/Knuck/Pan.

Agree, at the start I really wanted to hate them but sort of liked them for some unknown reason, and with time, like that fungus you mentioned, they've grown on me.

Yeah we have the same deal in NZ, I was in at my local dealer yesterday and enquired about the brand new (black)  Streetbob and they were all sold bar a demo bike, but they had a ugly green one there and wanted just under 3 grand more for it (bloody expensive paint job?), I am considering moving to a M8 or upgrading my '15 wideglide, don't really want a streetbob though, I like the Sportglide but can't get over the ugly mag's and exhaust
