    Hi.
My 2008 EG has developed a problem. It starts fine and runs normally for a short while then will run like it's firing on 1 and a half cylinders.
The engine light comes on then disappears and it runs normally again.
This is happening around every 2 kms or so.
Charging system is fine, according to the voltmeter, oil pressure is fine, according to the gauge.
It's like i have a tank of shitty fuel.
With the engine light coming on, will that throw an error code that can be interpreted by a dealer?
    Any help/advice appreciated.

There is a fault that describes your condition ,,,, It is called bike going into Limp Mode.
Google the above and see if this may be your condition.... Also as mentioned pull error codes .... Many times it seems to be the electrical connection to the throttle body, (behind the A/C....

Went over to Sy's, spoke to Greg today, he's thinking it's electrical.
Having it picked up next Friday.

Not quite sure exactly which wire it was, but it has something to do with the fly by throttle wire. Basically it cooked due to the amount of heat. The local mechanic has a pretty good multimeter which he used to find the offending wire and sorted it out. He said without that device, it would have taken him ages to find the problem. I will add this. The motor just cut out after about 5 seconds. I had to wait a minute, start the bike again, into first gear, 5 seconds later, it died. Lucky the mechanic was a couple of blocks from work.

Turns out it was the front oxygen sensor.
    Thanks for all the replies.
