Of course we all spend far too much time considering modifications, I know it is a disease but I am an addict. Some of you fellow addicts might provide good advice.
Seems to me after about 9,000 km on my new bike that although it is very powerful, like all stock bikes, it is a bit restricted. Freedom needed.

Stage 1 mods for a Dyna: what is the general consensus on the air intake / pipes / ECU tuner combination?
For 2 into 1 pipes it seems the Bassani Road Rage and Twin Bros Racing are popular, I want to match with a good tuner and air filter.
Is a modified air filter even nececessary? - as the standard is a huge thing, seems like it can suck like a $50 whore, I am thinking of downsizing it actually.

Experienced Dyna / Fatbob riders - like to receive your opinions, thanks in advance.

Hi Dark, I have a CVO 110 Fatbob so same engine etc.
The stock CVO air filter is all your bike needs, if you think the induction noise is high adding a filter cover drops it a bit but can make it shake more at idle.
I would not downsize it. All you need is a more open exhaust, as you mentioned to Lofty you’re thinking 2 into 1. So many pipes, so many opinions. Happy hunting.

For me the Harley Pro Tuner has been fine, (Not the limited Street Tuner) If you’re into saving bucks and like to tinker, there are stock tunes available for the 110 engine with Open/Race Exhaust. So with a PC you can remap your bike, reduce idle a tad etc, then get a dyno only if you think it’s needed.

    I have a FXDLS.

Changed the intake because I hate the whale dong heavy breather, so it's a mismatch of bits but a DK Customs backplate, externally vented to a small breather. K&N element.

    Bassani Road Rage 3, Powervision.

Makes 95hp & 114ftlb and 12.0 @ 107mph. Enough to make the rear tyre very sad.

Thanks Brash for the pic, looks great. I agree the stock filter ain’t pretty, wobbles like a drunken belly dancer too.
Looks like Dark Horse has more to think about for his FXDLS.

I reckon the Heavy Beather looks ok
    and it works
the elbow produces a tuned intake length
    recognised as being a performer
110 Fatbob here too, and its 126/118 SAE

    So ... Stage 1
fitted a set of slip ons - Maverick Crushers - thanks LoftyBob
    New ECU Screamin' Eagle
Colourful spark leads, sure to increase performance
And fitted Roland Sands adjustable brake and clutch levers. Gee the adjustable levers make a difference to your ride , I have relatively small hands (known medical fact that hand size is an inverse relation to penis size ha ha) but I can now hit the front brake hard by grabbing a fist full, it was hard to do that before which restricts braking; and the clutch action is a whole lot easier. I rode the Dyna down to PI Moto GP last year, we took the long way down and back with a bunch of Ducati riders, and my hands were like claws for a week after... This year will be a lot more comfortable with better control and better braking into the corners when the Ducati boys are playing chase the Hog.

The Maverick Crushers sound great but are barely legal, and will probably have to get baffles for them, otherwise can't accelerate without letting the whole suburb know I am going for a ride. It is good to have a loud bike but not so good when you have to keep one eye on the tacho all the time for fear of offending the public with obnoxious Harleyness.

Thanks for advice and suggestions guys.
