Thanks for the link Cropduster. Yeah there is no doubt there is a lot of animosity towards this family in Adelaide BUT I'm just interested in seeing these guys ride a bike at speeds that really are insane on a track that doesn't look half bad.

From what I seen 2 weeks ago driving home from the (Bob Jane Tyres ) Adelaide International Raceway the new development is coming along quite well at Tailem Bend, Its looking like a complete new city out there.

From what I understand the V8 Supercar Garages/ Pit area is almost complete along with the Motel

We stopped at the BP for something to eat and was not only impressed with the facility but the food was awesome, I wonder how long before the other fast food giants jump on board and build there stores there too

I personally am long forward to 2019 for the opening of the Drag Strip as I will be making the pilgrimage over there 100%

not interested in the politics of it all but for anybody interested here is a link to the facility

Thanks again for that programme Crop Duster.........Could'nt find this info anywhere and neither could a friend or two [ passed on ]. 2 general admission tickets for Saturday bought. I hope anything that brings the Superbikes to SA does not fail, Neither do I mind the drive getting there.

Jezzuz, I must be missing something? So much negativity? I personally cannot wait to front up and have a hopefully great day watching these fella's blitz the track. True, watching Motorsports from Home has so much going for it....Easy, BUT whats lost is the sound, the speed, the noise.........Why all the Doom and Gloom?

Although I am not a fan of OTR in SA , maybe this Motorsport complex is a good thing , but does come at a cost for a few private businesses.
There is a caravan/camping ground on site as well as a motel .
    A 4wd track will be constructed .
Adelaide International Raceway is in poor condition, though the 1/4 mile strip is good , but there are fuck all meets .
The owners of this new Motorsport complex also own Mallala racetrack , and a negative person may say when the new one opens, they will lock the gates at  Mallala .
A lot of SA drag racers converted their bikes and cars to salt flat specs because of the lack of meets at AIR .
The straight does seem too long , but must be for the drag strip .
It's just about up and running, so we will see.

What a ripper day at Tailem Bend with the Superbikes. Easy to get to, Easy to leave, Some great viewing areas even with just general admission tickets! Loads of parking, All in all just a great event. I reckon this is just going to get better and better as time goes on and along with it's hopeful success the amenities will grow along with it.

AIR just up the road, Mallala not too far, but all the way out to Tailem Bend and propping up the OTR empire..? Nah, no thanks.
