Has anyone installed the Harley digital speedo on their 1200 converted sporty?

G'day all
Curious to see if anyone has installed 70900274 Harley digital combo speedo to their 883-1200 sporty.
The website and dealer both say it's not compatible on 1200 converted 883s. From what I've read it's because the gear indicator won't work due to the different tranny gearing.
Has anyone installed it on a converted bike and did you run into any problems?

I have the combo speedo on my bike. It's not a converted bike, but if the only problem is the gear indicator, you can turn that feature off in the settings.

Yeah I thought as much, don't need it but it'd still be cool to have that feature otherwise all I'm paying for is a pretty clock with a taco.
I read on xlforum that someone solved the gear indicator problem by applying an 883 map with their 1200 tunes tables copied across. Could you see that being problematic at all?

You need to change the vss part of the map.
It’s 7% if memory serves correct but work it out with 883 teeth/1200 teeth x 100

Thanks all. Might just order it and see how I go. I'm pretty handy with the SE tuner so if it is a map based problem with the gear indicator I should be able to figure it out
