Hi guy's, looking at getting the Screamin Eagle Race Tuner while some are still available.
Does anyone know if i would have issues with downloading maps, manual tuning through Dyno shop etc once warranty has finished.
To my understanding Harley are no longer making these ( EPA issue or something) so does that mean all online maps etc will dissapear?
I think you will need a tuners licence or something from now on?
Just don't want to buy a tuning device that may become redundant.
    2017 FXDLS btw.

    Cheers.

    Haha, was waiting for it!
Fwiw that is the brand i would prefer if forum reviews are anything to go by but as i still have 18 months left on Warranty, i figured better safe than sorry if ever i had warranty claim. No drama's if Harley install etc.

    Cheers, in Vic though mate.
If Harley can't tell it's been remapped by another tuner once reset then definately worth a try.

Hilly mate , where did you get the info Re " removed the need for 30 day updates" ?

I really like the sound of that ! Pain in the forking erse that feature is !

I have been "stopping" that feature manually for a couple of years now

I have grown to really like the Supertuner pro of late.

Used to be a huge TTS afficianado until the "locking" of the ECM around 2011 sometime.

That caused me major grief more than once

For what it's worth I have 2 brand newies Supertuner pro on the shelf for "later" , either bikes I may have in the future personally or mate's bikes.

The issues I have seen with people using these thing is unreal, I had on on my Iron and it had to go to HD for tuning because I don’t own a windows computer and it’s out dated equipment. Vance & Hines FP3 saves your original maps and you can change anything in your ECU.. and if it goes to shit you can go back to the start ...oh and it operates off Apple and Microsoft and WiFi.

All sorted guy's. Just ordered the Super Tuner #32109-08C.
I'm sure it'll be just fine for any minor mods i may do (probably just the pipes, have the V&H upsweep ready to go on) plus still have option to manually tune if ever i do a few mods and put on dyno.
Just a note for people who are stoopid like myself, the tuner unit itself is what has all the canned maps stored in it! I assumed you had to connect to the net to download the maps lol.

Ehhh...not really. You do have to go to the net to download the whole shebang onto a laptop. You use the code numbers printed on the back of the dongle

Then all the canned MAPS are in your laptop NOT the Spertuner Pro tuner unit , which in reality is just a computer interface communication dongle.

Mmmm, ok. Different to what the dealership told me!
But anyway, so long as HD don't scrap all the old map/combo's and ability to manual tune etc and basically just aren't updating for future bikes/combo's then all's still good for me :)
    Cheers.
