and people reackon motorcycles are a money trap. Ha!

    Houses suck dollars big time.
obi ya just in luck, if required.
Just so happens I have a pristine sportsterised 1917 Lee Enfield .303 that I am selling. Had it for years, well, not since new though.
Reasonably accurate, has sling, even throw in 'British .303' reloading die, and I dunno, 20 or is it 50 rounds of reloads, can't remember. Anyway it'll keep those pesky Ruskies at bay.
Remember better dead than red, and black motorcycles rule.(hate that saying)

Thanks for thinking of me, but I'm all good for Lee Enfields at the moment. Lived for a long time where dingos could be a problem, with feral pigs turning up about 10 years ago and red deer about 5 years ago. Always preferred full wood when dealing with pigs in thick scrub and lantana country like Obi, so you could mount the bayonet in case things got up close and personal. Bought up big on surplus unopened ham cans in the 80s.

Well starting to get the bike together for upcoming trip to the tip. Wheels away getting new boots on and the trusty locktight being applied to bits that may rattle off.

Gee Pauly!, why don't you take a car with a trailer or a ute to the tip instead?. You will be able to take much more rubbish with you.

Ha Ha very good FC. Just ran into the first minor hurdle.....the bike shop that fitted the tyres cant balance the GS rear wheel due to it not running an axle....it bolts directly to the hub like a car. Looks like i am just going to do it like we did as kids.

Well they can balance car tyres so you could take your BMW wheel  to a car tyre place for balancing perhaps?.
I am not familiar with the non axle BMW wheels, do they have a wheel bearing in the wheel or is there one in the swingarm if there is one at all?

Had my Jap shitta, rice burning chunk of rubbish out for a ride today on a gloomy autumn arvo.
Riding this bike is something else. I imagine it is something like a really horny looking chick going for a walk stark naked.....everyone wants to talk to you!.
Even had an Indian couple ask if hubby could sit on the bike while wifey took a picture.
Some of the shots do not look like typical Tassie landscape but they is.

Jeez FC, she is a beauty, though does look smaller than I remember em; looks real good. Had 6 of the bugga's, as mates who were always cashed up, traded up after a year, and I got the hand me downs for a few hundred bucks, being a not so cashed up apprentice.
Is that the K model? Not the K1, I rode the 750/4, made in 1969 or 1970 not designated K series, but the precurser. Had like a little mesh on side covers. Mechanic at JN Taylors in Adelaide had one , pulled the rocker covers off, and without a word of exageration cam was broken, it had still been running. I worked there, 1971, when the Asian market started pumping their products, must say missed the smell of oil on the floor after time. They were an iconic Japanese entry to larger, reliable reasonably priced motorcycles.
    Shes a keeper

Yes Bloffski, it is the first "K"  model that was the one before the K1 etc. It is the only one with that type of sidecover with the mesh gills. I bought this bike off ebay in a drunken stupor about 10 years ago. My bid did not reach the reserve but seeing I had the highest bid I haggled with the seller and got it.
It is a real Peach, spent maybe the first 40 years of its life in an air conditioned hangar in Montana and Its pilot owner would run it up and down the runway and take it for fair weather jaunts. It had 12000 miles on it when I bought it and is like riding a brand new bike of its day.

Must have been a common problem. Had a K7 that snapped a camshaft. Stopped at a servo for fuel late at night near Murwillumba on my way home to Brisbane. Hit electric start and all I got was a click. Thinking the battery had died I then kicked her over. Heard a loud crack as she fired up. Run ok but sounded strange and was down on power but managed to ride it all the way back home. Pulled cam cover the next day and found the problem. Picked up another head and camshaft from the wreckers at Woolloongabba and was good to go. Traded her in 2 years later. Spotted the bike at the Story Bridge bike show around 15 years later still going strong. Would love to get another 750/4.
