In spite of the score and my support for nsw, I thought qld looked dangerous far more often than nsw. Their backline always has good shape and runs good set plays. Having slater running as an extra in always the right place makes a big difference

Yeah spot on mate however the blues deserve the credit, they showed grittiness and guts to hang on, specially with 12 men.
Just kept showing up and that’s what wins the big matches, defence even when your out on feet

I wondered why, Nsw had a player sent off, but when Qld did what looked like spear tackle , but what would I know. was a good game.

Yeah I reckon Morgan is the solution for 2019 in the number 7 but since he is not available, Lord knows what Walters will do.
Seems like Walters want to stick with Hunt which is madness for mine. He hasn’t done the job twice now, if he does in game 3, would you trust him in game 1 2019? Nah. Give Taylor or DCE a go I say.

Some of you are right — Qld was close and competitive this year BUT NSW wanted it more and had the talent to back it up. Worked for 80 mins like the Qld teams of previous years. We didn’t. Burns me to say it now. But I’m sober and looking forward to winning game 3 and getting momentum for next year.

Not like any Qld club team doing any good this year. Sometimes you take your kicking and move on.*

*Off to wash my mouth out with XXXX.

Yeah Hilly. A big part of Origin, in my humble opinion, is that 80 minute desire. Qld are masters of it but this time around without JT, Smith, Cooper Cronk, we lost that desire and mongrel.
Not saying it can’t come back fast with the right combo’s in Game 3.

A bit more of the below would help too...

Stuff nightmares are made of - drowning in XXXX!
Lads, Game 3 — who do you suggest in the number 7? Not Hunt. Give me some more names!

    Bring back JT!!!

I’d be giving Ash Taylor a shot, I think he is a good footballer who reads game well, he has been consistent enough to deserve a shot. How he would perform on the big stage, who knows but only way to find out is put him in for a crack.
To be honest I still think you’s are in trouble with your half for next couple years even with Morgan available.

I can see ponga moving to halves from fullback at some stage in his career like locky and mat Moylan did, he is too good to not be up in the line.

I’d like to see the Morgan-Munster combo next year. Both big strong blokes with a decent kicking and for Morgan, some history (think most of 2017) in controlling the game well.
One big advantage the Blues has this year was Maloney’s ability to kick and take control in the last 20 mins of a game — when traditionally Qld were most dangerous. His effort really choked our options.

So sure, Ash Taylor for Game 3 based on some form and curiosity.

Another good win for the big red V. Well done lads. Grabbing victory out of the jaws of defeat in the last 8 mins.

Far from unconvincing win but a win regardless. Hunt made plenty of mistakes again

Only saw a few mins of each PB. Have to admit I’m still smarting from Qld getting whacked and the Cows, being the Cows.
Hoping to pull myself out of it today to see Farah back at the Tigers, and hoping the Raiders give your Broncs are good serve.

    You are no help Chriso.
FYI - turns out I work with a Dogs supporter. He admitted it sober and appears not to have served any time nor have an ASIO tail. So there are two of you in Canberra! The best part was he assured me the Dogs will finish the year worse off than the Cows.

Made me feel a lot better about my teams fortunes!
