Heat wrap rust?

Guys I’ve got plans on re wrapping my pipes, it came with the bike when I purchased it. My question, is there rust under these? Hard to see in the photos but there’s some areas with yellow brown coming up. I’ve heard of wraps rusting pipes and what not. Another question how the eff do you fit a spanner or socket to get the pipes off.

That hole is from my shoes hitting the wrap, don’t think there’s an actual hole in the pipes if that’s what you meant. Might have to see what I can fit in there, my Suzuki was just Allen key bolts was so much easier.

90% of the time there will be a layer of rust under the wrap. The sfuff absorbs water and its downhill from there; I KNOW the pipes get hot and in theory the water will burn off and most of it does, but enough moisture is left behind to start the process. Do not expect the wrap to just fall off either...it can become almost solid over time.
Thats a nice wire job on the wrap too! very very rare to see someone actually do it right!
