Blackdog Ride to Darwin

Is anyone thinking of heading up, myself and a couple of others from Perth are looking at going. We were going to the US but was left too late to get organised so we are going on this one instead, it is finishing in Darwin on the 17th of August so we are riding over to pt Augusta then up and back down the west coast. Just wondering if anyone else was going and if they wanted to hook up at Pt Augusta possibly?

Well looks like I’m heading up on my patmalone, everyone else has pulled out for one reason or another, changed plan so will be heading straight up the coast and back down the centre, there is a contingent heading up from Perth but they are doing 400k a day so not far enough for me so now I can set my own pace and stop where I want.

Safe trails Stropp, there have been some sad tails for WA on past rides, US and here. 400 before smoko is nice.

Thanks Keith , yes 400 before smoko is nice ???? I’m doing Carnarvon to catch up with a mate Friday night then a 60th at Onslow Saturday night then no set agenda except Katherine for the 16th. Hopefully catch you guys in margs.

looking at this ride too.
As have clear to do do wtfuck I want anytime.
Mrs Right wants me gone for a little, plus bloody black dog bites me too -the barstead, like to leave him at home.
Looking on, from Victoria, know most main roads to and fro, around Australia.
Have a plan, 10 hour days are cool, if prepared.

Yes be doing daylight starts and when I’ve had enough will stop which is usually just before dark, next yr blackdog 10th anniversary around oz 36 days from Busselton wa, will be a great ride.

Broke old guy with a fucked back, an older Sportster with limited fuel range and a 6000 km round trip in mid winter.
Hmmm, what could possibly go wrong . . .

Thinking of catching up with peoples on way down, West coast, Geraldton, perth, Streaky, Penong, and Adelaide for few days.

Was out with the grinder and welder today attempting to adapt a fatbob type tank to the Sportster to alleviate my fuel range issues.
Will post up progress (or lack of) as I go

Reading into jazz sent by crew running BD, NT coppers don"t like exposed fuel containers on M/C"s ---wats that about.
They recommend Bladders----Be fucked if Im drinking 98 to piss in my tank.
