Have the same rattle in my Zodiac forward controls and have been meaning to drill and tap for a grease nipple. I have seen this done successfully on an American forum on a Sportster for exactly the same reason and the suggestion of the inclusion of O rings would keep the grease on the inside and make for a cleaner solution.
