Am baffled by baffles....

So... I have been ranting in few posts about not being happy with the sound from my screaming eagle slip ons in my 1200XLC.
I do not want to lose performance by installing open pipes, don't want something like short shots which will ring my ears if I go for a ride, but want bit more sound so the cars beside me can hear me. Right now if I get inside my car with windows up and get someone to blip the throttle....I can't hear my bike at all.... :|

I also like the long straight lines look the Screaming Eagle slip ons give..... so thought about replacing the stock baffles.

Anybody tried replacing screaming eagle baffles with something else? I keep hearing about Big City Thunder baffles, anybody tried them on their Sporties? Mine is a 2012 but the pipes don't read Screaming Eagle II or anything, just Screaming Eagles, I can see two security torx screws holding the baffle in place, so going to get a set of security bits and take it out.

Any other ideas for me to achieve what am trying to achieve? :\

You do know that, dare I say it, Exhausting gasses are like a specialist area, such as motor mechanics, and Tyre Specialists. Not want to sound as a tossa, but have learnt from many years, yes, Unless a very special person, they are not a simple plug and play.
I once had a Triumph 1969 Chopper, and was the looks and the bloody rigid bugga, BUT, the exhaust was like 1 1/2 inch, so go to 80 MPH, and she would choke on her own.
Meaning the exhaust did not flow, as too small, too long, Fucked if I know, but exhaust was the issue.
So do ya home work and talk to people who are exhausted. You know what I mean.

    Awesome! Thanks Hilly and TC!
Looks like they are torx security heads holding the baffles in place, I'll pick up a set from Supercheap tomorrow to open them.

So, drill them straight and then insert a rod and bend them around 45 degrees towards the engine (135 away from the engine)? That sounds simple enough, thanks. Did you guys have trouble taking the baffle out once the two torx screws are out or did you have to take the slip ons out to push the baffles out from the other side?
Ahh and another drill at the slope/angle end as well. Got it.

So took couple of hits with a lump hammer to take the baffle out. What's the trick to get it back in? Call my friend Mr lump hammer again? :/

A big thank you to Cropdustet and Green Iron for coming over and helping me out with the baffles. They did most of the work while I took on the important responsibility of drinking beer. :)
Now my bike has some rumble :) This will do for now I'd say till I get a complete set of pipes.
