Sporty slip ons

Good evening,
Just bought my first HD (been riding other things forever). It's a 2017 Roadster and it's a great thing.
I have a question though.
It had Cobra aftermarket pipes on it when i bought it.....insanely loud. So i swapped the original pipes back on and now it sounds like a sewing machine.
I'm thinking of a set of slip ons. Something with a nice bit of rumble but not something that will attract unwanted attention..
Any suggestions please?
What's working for you?
Brands? Models?
Are slip ons a good option?
Thanks,
Steve

Welcome to the forum. I went through exactly the same problem with the Cobra mufflers. The Cobras are great once you get the quiet baffles. See my thread about it here:

I’ve always
liked the sound of the standard header pipes with the Screaming Eagle mufflers. I assume you have a high flow air filter and a tuner (of some description ... SE?) you might even be able to source a second hand set, though On two previous bikes I’ve happily paid for the SE mufflers and never regretted it.
All the best,

Thanks guys. This is exactly the feedback i was after. I did consider new baffles but think I'm going to go with the eagles. Thanks again.

I had the Screamin Eagle Street Performance mufflers on my '07 Sporty and they had a decent neighbor friendly sound. They're good if that's what you're after. Take note though, for the newer bikes 2014+, the older Screamin Eagle mufflers won't fit. The option from Harley for the newer bikes is the Street Cannons. From all the videos and reviews I've read sound is not that great.

I recently talked with a reputable and very knowledgeable dyno tuner about late model sporty slip ons, and the answer was very clear and S&S has proven to be among the best, if not the best performing mufflers for the sporty and the tapered turbo style give a really nice note that is not too loud at all. hope that helps before you settle on the screaming Eagle ones, which i always thought are so made to conform with EPA standards?
Good luck with your choice and post up your impressions,.

S&S would be a good choice, the ones I've heard sound great. Definitely louder than the Scream Eagles though.
