I have had this happen a few times. Including once when away on a trip. Took almost an hour of jiggling lock/key. I had the Kryptonite brand. I emailed them and they just said wd40 etc. I have soaked the lock a few times and moisture not the problem. But i believe faulty tumbler in lock. There were numerous complaints of this nature when i googled problem. I use Kryptonite cut proof cable and lock now.

Haha BD. Well done for trying all other options. Only you could find "offence" at being told to avoid using a claw hammer and grinder on your bike.
Still, very glad you sought forum input before unleashing them..
Mate I ride with often, had a big triumph with a front disk lock, even with the bright yellow cord on his handlebars, kicked up the stand, lifted his feet and drove away with the lock fitted. Didn't get far.  Lofty can confirm those Rockets are heavy. Mate lifted it as though possessed with superhuman strength due to embarrassment I think.
    Cheers

Motogutzi in the 80.90"s put a fucken pad lock on rear disc, and forgot, shit happens aye.
    Shattering experience one time.

    We love bd!!
Reading his forum exploits reminds me of one of those legendary employee performance reviews
“his team would follow him anywhere! Only out of morbid curiosity!”

10 or more years ago I was on a run with a big group, most of them "strangers"

Was a young bloke there with a very expensively built chopper , just newly licenced and registered

Dropped into the Ravenswood tavern , a well known biker friendly joint right on a riverbank south of Perth

Young bloke whacks on his rear SPROCKET lock and into the pub. You can guess the rest !

On leaving he gets a few feet up the carpark gunning it , lock hits the swingarm once and gets past it

Damages the fuck out the swingarm first go and on the second revolution locks the back end and down he goes , and hard

Bent bars , fucked indicators , scratched primary , dented tank etc etc..fucking squillions of dollars the poor guy !

Reminder to myself at the time..

NEVER EVER USE ONE OF THOSE FUCKING THINGS ON MY BIKE !

We got a remember we have Insurance these days, so wtf.
I know I absolutely hate being robbed but, fuckem, Not standing guard with shotgun all night.
There are other deterrents a Viet Vet showed me which are pretty good. Not doing the lock thing again on the disc, as old and  forget.
Fuck is a barstead when ya canna leave ya dog tide up outside the shop for less than 5 minutes, for fear of being taken.
    Give me the olden days.

Hopefully you’ve got the bastard off by now blood but for future reference the kryptonite disc locks have seal covers to keep crud and moisture out and are quality mechanisms. I use two disc locks in my shed at home, and at work, because I want to do all I can to stop some prick knocking off my King......can’t recommend kryptonite locks enough....5 years in, and they have never failed to open with ease, even in the humidity of SE Qld.
