Buying mail order HD parts from the US

G'day guys. Sold my last HD some time ago so Ive been away from this forum for a while. Just bought another, so I'm back and have a question.
Last bike (07 Fatty), I successfully imported a heap of parts from a mob called Zannotti's in the US. I've heard there's now an issue importing HD parts as the US parts suppliers don't want to sell overseas. Is that the case?
I've imported cars and associated parts previously but they obviously come via containers, not via the mail.
Anyone successfully importing HD parts by mail?
    Cheers
    Matt

I am not quite sure that it is really worth it as I have found that the prices in Aust aren't too bad now. I recently went over to the states and priced a couple of parts whilst I was there and the difference for $600 of parts in Aust $$ was $30 AUD cheaper buying them in the states. Admittedly the AUD was at 0.72 USD and maybe it was just the pricing of the specific parts I was looking at.
I used to used Zannotti's and also M&M myself.  If you are going to do it then as stated above the only way to do it is setup a third party postal service.

I have bought bunch of stuff using Revzilla and JPCycles and never had problem getting stuff. Some bulky parts they don't want to ship outside US but you can post forward them using third party guys.

Thanks guys. Looks like a third party set up is the go then. Like everything though, it depends on the freight costs. As already mentioned, sometimes there are good deals to be had here, so I'll check that option first. Might not be worth the hassle of saving a few dollars only. Back when i used Zannotti our dollar was much better and there were good savings to be made versus buying here.
    Not so no though.
    Cheers.

As you know, it depends on the dollar and how well financed you are, plus love buying Aussie stuff if available.
Well- mail order . They can get these little Brides in envelopes, so why not anything else?

I make a point of always buying genuine stuff from the local dealer over the counter.  I've noticed their prices are generally a match for what it costs in the U.S plus a small amount to cover cost of shipping, so it pays to support them.
