Please excuse for the dumb question. 

I just bough a 08 nightster with 8500ks on it.

I didn't care what was done to the bike as long as it was in good condition. It has no receipts no log books? She looked and sounded good so I bought it. Thing is I don't know whats been done to the engine. Owner told me everything from the 08 harley parts book went into her?

It does have SE heads, mufflers, air filter 

SE cams can hear them

Throttle body looks stock no SE logo

It sounds tapperty solid lifters I dont no?

It came with SE tuner its black?

So in a nut shell I don't know what im running exactly ? was thinking of checking the tune on the sert website see if there's any updates for it.

And would be helpful for any future work to know what im running exactly. Bike is running good just sounds a bit tapperty.

I just serviced it oil, filter ,m1 trans fluid, kn filter and SE high comp spark plugs. Don't really want to pull half the engine down to find out.

What do you fellas think? 

the old stuff used to have cast iron lifter blocks .

I'm going to get my old 03 sporty ( has lifters in case too ) rebuilt ( motor & gear box ) ( new rear ohlins shocks, race tech fork internals ) as I love riding this bike. as I'll be upgrading the tune too new lifters & cam set, but want high performance hydraulic so the grow with engine as it expands ( solids don't do that ) glaz if you can find a good hi performance hd person would be a good idea, just to check it out. dealers are not hi performance tuners they just sell and fit parts, so find a good indy.

I recon it sounds like an Andrews EV3 cam is installed.

All the gear fitted is 2008 SE stuff so im told.

Suppose pull side covet off next oil change for a gander.  Cheers
