Harley hi flow pod filters, even better than I thought.

Thought ide share this.
My Harley hi flow pod filter gave me a realy cool christmas present.
When I purchased my new 08 custom softail in 08, I purchased the hi flow pod filter in truth, just because I thought it looked pretty good on a Harley. Bought the supertuner, then flashed the map to suit. It seemed to make the bike run a little better but not that much. Again, I only bought the pod filter cause I thought it looked cool.
Couple of days ago, it had been raining and I pulled up on the side of the road for a sec which was gravely. Put my right foot down and their was a little muddy hole that I didnt see and my right foot went in and over I went with the bike in what seemed a split second. luckily as the bike went over past the point of no return, I managed to kick my seff out to right so the exhaust pipes wouldnt be laying across my legs burning the crap out of them.
Lifted the bike up, wheeled it to solid ground then had a look at what I thought would be shit loads of cosmetic damage, dinted tank, ect, ect. Even the crossbone saddlebags on bike held the rear of bike up off ground and didnt damage them at all. A leather treatment and you couldnt tell the diference. Not even any scuff marks on bag.
Got a bit of a shock. The pod filter held the bike off the ground, especially the fuel tank. No damage anywhere except the end of the throttle grip. Which I didnt care about because the spongy rubber on them had gone hard and was a bit slippery to grip as they do over the years. And I only bought them grips cause I bought an 84 evo custom softail the day Harley releaded the custom softail in 84, and those grips where the first extra i bought for that 84 evo custom softail.
Thats the only damage.
The next pic is shows no damage and the exhaust pipe wrap is simply there as I installed foot boards on bike a few years ago and my right foot seems to naturaly place itself on ground behind foot board which every now and again would burn a hole in my jeans leg and burn me leg as well. I remember some time ago a bloke asked about converting from pegs to foot boards so this is what I did. The brackets from an 08 heritage softail bolt straight on. Only got to buy two rear brake master cylinder brake line gaskets as you have to fit to new heritage brackets. No mods required.
Merry Xmas to all - and to the gods of motorcycling and to the Harley bloke that designed this pod filter.

Glad there was no real damage. I did the same thing in a car park once. Foot slipped on gravel and over it went on the right side. Only damage was the brake lever.

Glad you had some good luck there Mick.
I wonder if HD will now claim the heavy breather now doubles as a Oggy Knob and charge an extra 10%?
