Saddlemen seats

Looking for a new seat for the fatboy 07 model.  Saddlemen certainly look comfortable and I like the Explorer Ultimate Comfort model.  Looks like only available from the U.S. and I see the question has been asked some time ago re Aus suppliers.  Wasn't any about a year ago, does anyone know if there is one now.  Would like to see one first prior to purchase if possible.  Having said that I see a lot of talk about Sundowner.  Topic has sort of been covered in the past,  but open for comments from anyone who has updated their seats and are happy.  Would like some more comfort for the pillion who doesn't find the stock seat very comfy as well.  One piece or two piece doesn't really worry me too much.  Also considered getting gel in and remodeling the oem seat with a local guy here in Geelong.  Expensive process though.  Recommendations anyone??

I can’t help with Saddlemen but I did do a fair bit of research on seats for my 2016 FatBoy. I’m fairly big (6’1” and 120kg) and wanted a seat that would be comfortable for hours but also keep me in one spot rather than slipping about, especially during braking and accelaration.
I settled on the Mustang Vintage Wide Solo. I liked it so much that I also bought the same in double. It is very comfortable (I’ve done 8 hours straight on it, except for petrol breaks, without soreness) and I like the fact it is sculpted. It’s like having a mini back rest without the back rest look. No complaints from the missus as pillion on the double either - it’s a big, comfortable seat back there too.

Got the seats on Revzilla. Not all that cheap but they arrived quickly and without issues.

I bought a sundowner for my 013 fatboy 12 months ago. I find I can ride much longer now before arse ache sets in. With the old standard seat I started to wiggle around after about an hour with arse, leg ache. I bought it after asking a long time riding good mate who worked for a Harley dealer in the parts department. I knew he would recommend what he thought was good, and not because he worked for Harley. Others thoughts may differ.

I bought a Saddleman for my 2012 Dyna, the seat was solidly built, the foam was better quality than the HD seat (I didn't sink into it and end up feeling the seat base after a couple of hours like I did on the HD seat - and yeah I'm a fat bastard) and it was without a doubt more comfortable.
However the front tab didn't fit into the stock seat tab mount and I had to bend it to fit (and I wasn't the only one with this problem).

Not a deal breaker but not what you expect when you're paying that much for a bit of foam and some fake leather on a plastic base.

Thanks for the input, sounds like Sundowner are very popular.  Still trolling the net to try and make a decision.

Binnsy, are you wanting a seat with a backrest?
I reckon theyre worthwhile even as a backup option. If/when you have back problems, or doing long trips on the bike, they're worth their weight in gold.

Check Gumtree as sundowner and mustang seats come up from time to time although sundowner doesn't have backrest. Get a seat that hopefully suits without spending ridiculous money for new seat from USA. And if it doesn't suit, you're not bad off on the loss. Many seats and parts sold on Gumtree are barely used thanks to many Harleys in Australia sitting in garages with seldom use.

I have a saddlemen two up seat. Best feeling seat for myself. And has amazing back support and quality.
I have a mate who is a dealer for them in Australia and was all a very easy process.

Thanks for the input guys, ended up getting a Sundowner off Gumtree, nearly new so have fitted it to the bike.  Not 100% keen on the look but will go for a spin today and see how it goes.  Certainly more comfortable just sitting on it in the garage.

Ended up finding a near new Sundowner on Gumtree, very comfortable seat but find it pushes me further forward towards the bars. Not ideal so the hunt continues.
