2017 M8 Oil consumption issues

Hi guys,
Anyone having oil consumption issues with 2017 M8's?
Had first service done 1300k's, checked oil level after a long ride (1400k's) 4985k's now, and it was down to the add mark, added 800 ml of motor oil to bring up to the top of mark with oil hot.
Called dealer and explained the issue and was told the old line of 1L /1000 km's is ok for oil consumption.
Being an EX Harley tech I can tell you this is bullshit and is only applied to older bikes and is the sign of top end rebuild being needed. Having this happen in a brand new motor is totally unacceptable.
Dealer advised keep an eye on consumption over next 1000k's and let them know the result. Was told they would put in and E service form to the factory to highlight the issue under warranty.

My experience is that new bikes can use some oil for around the first 10k, but your rate does seem excessive. Once fully hot, do you idle it on the side stand for a few minutes before shutting off to measure the oil level?

Compare notes with other M8 owners?
surely there must be other owners on this forum?

Have you seen the video getting around by T-MAN PERFORMANCE?
I found it very interesting considering the dramas I have been through - by the way, I finally have a new bike for those who saw my 'M8 Stage 1 oil issues' post.

There is a ton of information (and complaints) about this issue on the US forum. In fact, I think it’s actually been accepted as an issue by Harley over there (in the workshop service procedure guide or whatever they use in-house, I think Someone PDF’d it and uploaded the relevant page)

Hi Guys,
After finding the motor oil level low at 4k ( hot oil on sidestand, bottom of checked area ) and the dealer "checking the levels" after I topped it up to take it too them, The bike hasn't used a drop, still riding at same speeds 120/140, may have been just a running in issue but was pretty worrying at that time as the bike was brand new.

Just a bit of an update, now done 10,000 and no sign of any issues so far. Fingers crossed it will stay that way, I do enjoy the ride.

So far mine is ok. Although I've only done 800 kays. I will keep a close eye on it though.
