Anyone know of any local sellers stocking kits? I see the kits on eBay from alloyboltz but the shipping prices are up there. Just looking to upgrade to something prettier.

Okay...so on a not taking the piss side of things.  What I did/do is to go to the local nuts and bolts store, purchase a full set of stainless bolts etc.  Polished them up to a mirror finish and then used them.
Its a bit more work, but they will last forever (some have been on the bike 20 years), never rust and you can use them without fear of the chrome cracking.  I tried a chrome kit once but it was Chinese chitty chrome so the finish was a joke.

Ok thanks, I was considering the stainless kits but I might do the same.

Just make sure it is 316 not 304.

    304 will rust.

Thanks, good to know...I live near the beach so anything that involves less trivial maintenance the better. The stock alloy are okay but start to look like shit over time.

I should add that 316 is does not have the same tensile strength as a grade 8 bolt.

True, but very few (if any) of the engine and case bolts are actually grade 8.

Thanks for the tips, I bought some 316 bolts and they polished up great... So much cheaper than those polished kits from the US.
