Tank lift... do people bend tank bracket?

    Again.. a topic that would have been talked about thousands of times yet the anser I'm looking for ain't there.. 
    Do people bend the tank bracket (see pic) so they line up parallel with the frame? 

    Below is tank lift I've done.. notice the gap..


    And below is tank lift someone else did.. notice now there's no gap..

    Not sure how it goes on, but by the pic it looks like you've just lifted it when you've tightened the bolt near the seat.

    Are they the same tank?

    If you loosen the bolt neat the seat can you push it flat or not?

    If yes, get someone to push down on the tank while you tighten it.

    If not:

    I've seen a few of these lifts btw, and quite a few of them look like yours - the idea being the tank ends up more horizontal with the ground.  Not a look I like, but to each their own. 
    Maybe the flat to frame ones are different kits?
