Ness Big Brake Kit

Just thought I would pass on a bit of info on these kits, I couldn't find much on them using the search function. The front disc on the Wide Glide was worn out, I was going to get a six pot caliper but I want to upgrade the rear suspension before shelling out for a new caliper.
So I thought I would try one of these Ness Big Brake Rotor kits, to see if it would improve the front braking whilst still using the standard caliper, these kits get pretty good raps on the US forum. Very simple install, a couple of the Allen Head cap screws were short, instructions called out 35mm long, they supplied 30mm long, went and got stainless ones anyway the right length. Put new sintered pads in the caliper, test ride, damn, big difference, will need to upgrade the front suspension now also.
Very noticeable improvement whilst using the standard caliper, looks pretty good, price wise, not that much more than buying a quality floating front rotor.

Done a couple thousand k's now, very happy with the stopping power Hilly. Wear wise, it shows virtually nil so far, will let you all know how it's wearing and how the brake pads hold up.

I got 30k out of the original front disc, it was down to the minimum though, hope to get that much. What are you guys getting out of your discs ?.
Not sure why, but I use a lot of rear brake on the wide glide compared to the sportster and low rider I have owned in the past.

Interesting to hear you were also more rear brake heavy on your wide glide Hilly. I ride with a couple of guys on softails mainly, & one on a R-Glide, and he just raves how good the stereo is , but they are on the front all the time. Most have PM calipers, braided brake lines and so on. Even though the Ness 15" front is excellent I reckon I will be upgrading the rear caliper/ disc real soon.
