they look good, I was just checking that you have a fork brace, as with only one. would think a hard stop would walk a leg, but I have a Buell as well as a sporty the Buell only has one brake its an old tube frame not an xb, has a fork brace. does it stop a lot better now.

Sorry to hijack your post, but I am pondering brake upgrade options for my 2008 XL883 also.  Yes I have read info that I could easily find on this forum already.

Seems not much is directly compatible as a bolt on for Sportys with 21" wire wheels.

Is anyone aware of a 4piston caliper that's a direct bolt on to suit wire wheels?

I've been considering the XR1200 caliper option which everyone recommends, not sure if HD still stock these, but I understand that these still have clearance issues and my need some machining to fit...is this possible and would it affect the structural integrity of the caliper?

Other option is the Vrod Brembo, but involves new rotor, is there still clearance issues with wire wheels with this brake?

    Thanks anyone for you advice...

BBYHD. This is them mate. Same calipers as what's on sporties from '99 to 'fuck knows.
Also dynas and tourers. I think they are on last years style lowrider.
Mine are red, otherwise the same.

Mate, all I can tell you is that my kit was part number 41300127, that is for a twin disc front. They are the same calipers that have been used by HD for years on various models.
HEAPS better than the garbage that was introduced on the '04 up Sportsters.
    IMHO.
They will bolt straight onto a late model sporty forkleg. Try ringing the Tasmanian HD dealer as I know he has a shitload of second hand stuff. Or find a parts guy at a dealership who knows what to look for.
Hope this helps a bit, good luck.
