Just wonder if anyone actually tried the Vision X headlight capable of comparing it with the Daymaker (Vision X seem to get better ratings compared to the Daymaker....) so curious...

Read post about the Daymaker purchase, but its easy to be locked down on the HD brand forgetting about other brands actually stepping it up a notch or three  - Havent tested any of them myself, so no real sense of which one actually performs better - curious if anyone tried the Vision X

Heres a youtube clip that triggered my thoughts on this

Comparing this light to stock its very good, stock is like a candle in a headlight .
only problem , which really isnt a problem so i can tell so far, the stock light had this small parker light , it has two clips , i couldnt plug this into the new light , but running light and high beams work which is awesome, my bike is a 2012 model

really love how its blacked out, also i will be even more visable to cars , the glass is actually not glass its plastic.

would i buy a daymaker from harley , hell no , would i buy a more expensive known brand nah , this light does what its supposed to do.

The only reason i got the wisamic headlight is because of the good reviews , i now see why its so good and at $76 you cant go wrong

Another brand to research is Hog Lights in Brissy

Got a few mates with them and they are happy as.

    Plus another 1 for Hoglights.
I purchased the Harley brand for my FXST and then a Hoglight for my XR. Both are 5 3/4, quality seems the same (had both for 1 plus years now) and there is basically no light output difference (have swapped them around on both bikes and very similar output).

The only difference is the price - Hoglights is under 1/2 the price of the Harley one

+1 for Hoglights though will admit that if I was to do it again I’d consider some of cheaper options discussed on this forum or the other brand that Loftybob mentioned (longer warranty for same $$).

I had a hoglights light on my dyna and I was very happy with the light output and the pattern, I put a HD Daymaker on my Street Glide and I'm... err less happy.
Yes it's brighter than the stock light but it's not as bright as the hoglights one was and the pattern has a very sharp cutoff that the hoghlights one didn't suffer from.

I'd rate the stocker on my dyna as a 3, the stocker on my streetglide as a 4, the Daymaker as a 6 and the Hoglights as a 7 out of 10.

Ok, Seem that the comparison among most posts ends up between Hoglights and Daymaker

Anyone checked out the Vision X ?

Appears that the 7" Vortex LED from Vision X costs a fair bit (approx US +$400) - Ive seen Daymaker sold for a 3rd of that price - not sure if Im comparing apples with apples though (just did a quick lookup on brand and 7" size) ? But US $400 (Vision X) for a headlight, thats a hefty price to pay for a headlight

Thumbs up for the hoglights.  Smashed my daymaker on the Ultra and Harley wanted $847 for a daymaker and the Hoglight was $340 delivered to my door.  Plug and play and looks great.
