New to this forum but hoping to pick your brains and get some helpful information to assist in a bucket list item. Just turned 40 so need to get some of these done.
So, I would like to ride around the USA/Canada next north American summer June-August 2018. Planning on going solo at this stage for about 60-90 days. No real itinerary, just ride wherever takes my interest.
My questions are these.....
1. Is there a difference in buying a new vs 2nd hand bike(only a year or 2 old at most) regarding shipping it home to Australia? I was thinking if I purchased a good bike and got attached to it over there how would I go about bringing it home and possibly riding it around Oz too.
2. What's the deal with caravan parks, places to camp? I've heard it's not the same as Australia as sometimes these places aren't populated by tourists. If you pick the wrong one it's likely full of people down on their luck. And not necessarily the best places to camp up for the night.
