Hi guys i have finally bit the bullet and have my breakout in getting built into a 110 hoping to get 130hp should be finished in the next couple of weeks.
    the build consists of:
    S&S 110 cylinders and pistons
    S&S 635HO gear drive cams (10.3:1 comp 194ccp)
    S&S push rods
getting my heads CnC ported and setup for the cams
feuiling oil pump camplate and lifters
    aim/S.E variable pressure clutch
    Hpi 55-58mm throttle body

what do you guys think should be a pretty fun ride.

Looks good but getting 110ci to 130hp is not easy and probably requires more compression than that. Maybe a bigger cam too and big valves but I don't know enough about that. Your current specs suggest more like 120hp? Still lots and very fun
Are you considering anything for the bottom end which is prone to fail with a big increase in power ? I guess the risk of failure depends on how the bike is ridden.

Harley don't warranty the 120r which tells you something. They warranty the low comp 110. They warranty the dealer installed 110 upgrade to 117 but the 117 upgrade does not touch the heads and the smaller cams used (which want at least 10.5 comp to shine) run at 9.9 comp. So the 117 kit is "detuned" for reliability, at least IMHO. That suggests harley knows the limits for reliability.

if you like HP, maybe the 625 or 260e

Yeah but what comp is that bike running? Probably unknown to us but I bet it's higher than 10.3

The point I'm making is that it is possible to make 130hp although not easy. Most big hp builds need lots of compression. 10.3 is not much compression in this context

I've run higher comp than 10.3 but with smaller cams. Tune was good and I never had a problem getting good fuel. Bike was smooth as butter. It wasn't ridden in dense traffic.
It's the bigger cams that make bikes edgey down low around town. And the bigger cams need high comp to work.

The higher comp on its own is more sensitive to temperature, fuel and tuning.

So typically not good for Street use.

Are you going bigger injectors as well ??

Hope the build goes well and you are happy with the results.

    Keep us posted :)

    Cheers

I've always kept the comp down a bit from what they say a cam likes and still had good results. Just a bit of piece of mind knowing everything is working just a little easier and no trouble with pinging, fuel heat, easier on starters etc
