Buying good fitting handlebars

This gives me headaches. In an ideal world you'd ride to a shop that had heaps of bars in stock that you could hold up against your bike to check for fit and comfort. Or go to a large gathering of bikes and find someone with the same bike who has changed bars to some you like. Not that easy where I live.
I tend to look online but it's hard to work out sizing and how it'd play out on your bike. Last time I did this I narrowed my choice down to 2 and bought 2 bars and once they arrived i chose the best fitting of the 2, which turned out perfect. But they were handlebars fitting into risers which is a bit easier I reckon.

I'm now looking at 6-8 inch pull back risers. Also looking at pullback tbars or the roller bars that Burleigh make but dunno if I can justify the cost of Burleigh bars

Thanks for any input you can offer on working out how to best ensure good fitment

Bike is a 2017 dyna with 1.25 inch bars in black

    Hi Fatbat
Wow, what a subject, worse than a can of CAM woims, we're all so different. (Sept for the beards etc)

Comfort is so so subjective, I like sitting IN a bike, some like the feeling of sitting ON their bike.

Wish you luck with this million dollar question.

    That might help you mate.

Plug in your bike (they might not have exact model but should be able to find something close), your height, and you can start playin with bar risers/pullback etc

If it is any help Fatbat I firstly went for 6" pullback T bars, 31" wide, then changed to 8" pullback, 30" wide. You wouldn't think 2" makes much difference but it does, I find the current bars perfect. I do have WG triple trees with 3 degrees rake though. As you can see from the photo they come back a fair way too. The other bike is my son's.

I hear ya, I'm thinking of extended foot pegs, then handlebars. Trying to get a good fit ( relive back soreness) it's a minefield of options. Think custom bars might be the go. Been told there is a guru in Melb.. GL with what you go for
