Does anyone know why the Winpv software has tick boxes down the left side and none are ticked when a map is loaded.

Don't need to tick anything, just make the change and save.

When a map is loaded you are viewing the root of the map file, upon selecting an area to view / modify (eg Tune Info and then ticking description) the field selected will display the parameters on the right hand side window

therefore, only select / tick an option to view and or edit
