Suspension upgrade

there has been quite a bit of talk on here lately about suspension and what to use. I did really think about going with a top shelf Ohlins setup but just don't have that much too spend. It would've cost around $4k fitted.
I got onto a local bloke who only does bike suspension. He mainly does race bikes but has been looking into Harleys and other cruisers as he has seen there isn't a big range of good quality components available here in Australia. He has been working with K Tech for many years and they have devoloped a few shocks and fork setups available now. They do a full drop in setup for my front end but it's expensive, around  $1450 fitted and they do top end piggy back shocks for about $1800. After having a good chat about what I'm wanting from my bike he made some recommendations. Instead of the full K Tech front end kit he suggested we go with Racetech setup and the non piggy back K Tech shocks. He is going to do it as a ride in ride out for $1950 and guarantees his work.
It will take about 3 weeks for the custom built shocks to arrive from the UK and once here he will do the job as soon as it suits me.
I know this is a bit long winded but I know that there are a few of us that have been looking for a good setup at a reasonable price.
Once done and sorted I will do a review.
I have told him that whether it's good or not I will let everyone know on here how it turns out.
He is keen to get more business from the cruiser market so hopefully it works how I want it to.

I'm getting some rear shocks fitted today, they are racingbro's bazooka HD mono r's (the non piggy-back ones), the local Hd dealer is trailing them and gave me a good deal, I will let you know how they go

thanks China yeah I know they dont, he tells me he can achieve what I want with the reservoir ones. TJU I am around 85kgs at the moment and they can make them to suit your weight and requirements. I am on the Gold Coast and his business is at Pacific Pines.
Be interesting to hear how you go with your shocks WG.

Steve, I will be keen to hear how it comes together for you, I have been gathering info/prices on rear suspension for my WG, I have a price from Le Frog for a set of Fournales ($1500) have not heard to many bad things about the product. But I also have been talking with a guy on the sunshine coast about both the piggyback and standard style of Ohlins (standard $1400, piggyback $2100).

Yeah I will have to change preload if I load her up to go away anywhere but once the other settings are sorted I don't want to be fiddling with it. It drove me mad with my other Street Glide when I put the YSS shocks on. I was forever adjusting them to try and get them supple enough without too much wallowing. The bloke doing the job is only 15 minutes from home so if not happy I told him I will be back until it's right. I pay half up front then the balance once I'm happy with it.

I asked the bloke about 13's and with the sag setup right it would get them close to 12"s.

the HD shocks don't have any sag, they are 12"s from centre to centre of the eyelets. That is why they are so harsh.

thanks China just the way I explained. I know I need sag but I reckon the shocks/springs I have on now have sfa. They don't move when I sit on the bike. They are the HD ones with the adjustable preload on one of them. I am only short (5'8) so I need to keep the bike as low as I can without compromising ground clearance too much. I think 13" should be a good compromise.
