Oil done to death

Ok I know oil has been done to death so I am not trying to get into it again, I am only wondering if anyone has tried penrite oil with success. Easy availability from local supercheap, Australian company I think and they have a 15w 50 full synth without friction modifiers suitable for wet clutch motorcycle engines so will work in primary as well. Just checked transmission oil with bike vertical, oil was at add and checked owners manual and it said check on stand so definitely need oil, Ihave no idea what is in there so best to replace rather than top up, only 0.95 ltr in there so cheap to do. Penrite have a 75/90 or 85/140 gear oil, after a lot of reading it is even numbers on engine oil or gear oil in there, just think a good time to decide with another summer around the corner.

    Done to death for sure!

I can't see the point of running engine oil in the box or primary.
I run Motul Expert in the primary and Motul 10W (EP90) in the box.

I run Penrite HPR Diesel 20W/60 in the motor, it's cheaper than their bike oil and a good product. There's lots of good oils around, I think most of the shitfight has its origins in the MoCo's wacky oil specs, the aim of which is flogging their own brand of oil I guess.

So many recommendations, all I was after realy was if anyone ran penrite since I have used it in all my cars and like it. Redline shockproof used in a lot of gearboxes and I like the idea of gear oil in there, most suggest any non friction modified oil in primary so a standard bottle of oil will cover motor and primary  with some for top up if needed. Just have to decide between the two weights of gear oil.

    I use Penrite in mine,
    20w60diesel in the engine
    85w110 in the trans/box
still use the HD formula + in the primary though for now

Thanks guys, just wanted to know penrite wasn't problem causing. Last question why diesel oil and not regular engine oil? I still have to get an oil filter yet but will have to fix low gearbox oil before I go too far.

Am a "Penriter" for years too, due to availability, price, and Australian. I did make a mistake and changed the primary to you beaut Penrite Synthetic, clutch slipped at around 4000rpm, so I changed out primary oil to other Penrite non synthetic.

Penrite Racing 20 comes in a few different weights

been using it in my bikes for years engine and primary, use Penrite synthetic gear oil in Box

some mention that they don't see the point in using engine oil in primary, I have a different take on that opinion

if ya want ya compensator to give you good service use a heavy weight engine oil that is good for ya clutch

I use Penrite MC4 20w/50 full syn in engine, Penrite MC4 10w-50 semi-syn in primary and Redline shockproof heavy in the box, Supercheap sell the penrite I usually wait for one of their sales before I purchase, the 20w/50 can be brought for under half the cost of SE syn-3 (and rates better)

EVO's love Penrite 20w-60 diesel. Works a treat in an abused overheated truck and will do the same in your Harley.

Well got around to changing trans oil, prick of a place for drain plug and after warming up putting hand between exhaust to remove fill plug is not fun. I don't know how long the old oil has been in there but the drain plug had thread lock on it so stiff to get out, I caught 500ml in a glass jug and it was cloudy for want of a better description, couldn't see through it, wasn't black but grey cloud floating in it but at least the magnet had no large metal on just a small amount of fine paste material, rubbing the oil between my fingers it didn't feel as slippery as I though it would and after a while almost felt sticky. Bike only had 3000km when I got it and I haven't been riding as much as I would like, I  think I  might go for penrite 10 tenths racing oil in the engine and primary, clearly says no friction modifiers  and suitable for motorcycle wet clutches, I have seen a lot about using ATF in the primary and some of the reading makes sense including it is recommended in a few modern manual boxes. I like the idea of one container of oil plus 1ltr of gear oil l for the box.

Still looking into it, not a sportie, blackline twin cam. Not rushing into it but would like to do before summer heat.
