Don't mind the look of the Fatboy mostly, not keen on the large pre load adjuster sticking out. So no more separate oil tank on the new Softail range? Simplifies things if they only 2 styles of big twins I suppose ie. rubber and solid mount, or will it only be the 1 rubber mount M8 engine in different capacities that will fit all big twin chassis'?

The new lowrider has gone back to a single front disc. IMHO, a backward step.
Ummmm, my 08 FLHT is looking better and better.

I don't really get all the criticism, maby because japs have been copying harley more closely over the years you can see some similarities. Eventhough evolved the motor still looks harley and there doesn't look to be plastic dress up bits so to me looks like a harley, not many will stay as they come off the showroom just as they change now. I look forward to seeing what people do to them and even a few test rides, if they are to survive they must evolve and I remember cries of despair when the evo arrived and probably the twin cam and look what happened.

It seems the Aussie model FatBob the number plate will be mounted on a frame kinda thingy(technical term),that does around the back from the swingarm.Ewww

I will reserve full judgement until I see them in the flesh and take a few for a ride. I will admit that in some pics, it looks like a Kawasaki design guy had some input. Seems to be mostly related to the lights area?
I reckon they should have left the Fat Bob's twin lights as the they were. Looked sweet; why not a slight change instead of going for the Mad Max rip-off look? The new bobbed tail does nothing for me. Are the Aus delivered ones going to have the number plate hanging off that plastic crap over the rear tyre? Good luck ditching that without the coppers getting sus.
But, things change. HD wasn't just going to shove the M8 in the existing Dyna and Softail range with a couple of minor changes. These bikes are about new customers IMO; perhaps HD has written off the 'faithful'?

I was looking at the fatbob only.
Chain final drive is another surprise in addition to everything else.
No mention of electronic throttle (cruise control) either.
I don't like the changes at all. The tourers don't look too much different from the twin cam tourers but the new softail bikes look like Jap bikes more than ever. Makes me wonder why they got rid of the vrods given the shift to styling that is more similar to the vrod and when vrods were a bike for some blokes getting off sports bikes.
And pricing has gone up a fair whack.

If I could afford it I would buy a 2018 Fatboy tomorrow, they look good, guessing they wouldn't get the
wobbles up like my old 2015 Ultra.

For the most part i don't dislike the new softails , the Fat Bob reminds me of a V-Max (and is kind of ugly) but the looks of the Fat Boy are kind of ok.
The parts i like least are the smaller tanks (just over 13L) and less lean angle on the street bob , the breakout doesn't look a lot different to me but also has the small tank.
Are the M8's better on fuel than the Twin Cams ?

I noticed all the tanks are just over 13ltr mine has 8ltr part of the reason I got this and my last bike, riding any bike long distance means filing up every chance or judgment call on making it to the next fill. They did note wieght loss on most models and the new motors could be more efficient but they seem to be more town oriented.

Fuel efficiency on the 18' bikes are bull shit because you will mod it once you got your new bike ...
$34500 for 2018 114ci Breakout :) yes baby but sadly we got a trade and they dont want it :( they gave us $22 grand for my wife's 2017 Breakout with stage 5 and Legend Air lol ... i told them i am ok if they gave us 25k for ours without the stage 5 and the legend air suspension ... they said no because they priced our bike including the mods ahhaha fucking scum bag ...
She is stuck with her bike for 2 years at least :) it aint so bad anyway it's freaking nice bike.
We want $30K at least for our bike do you think we are dreaming or time wasting? If you're a dealer and you want a deal $4k change over on a 2018 114ci breakout give us a buzz....
Our bike:
2017 Breakout stage 5 110ci Tire Shredder Engine Upgrade with legend air suspension done only 2361 miles (about 3800km) in low speed traffic and comes in sexy vivid black ... Vance and Hines Short Shots + SE Big Air Intake + SE Tuner + Harley Daymaker + Moustach Bar (engine guard).

Well it looks like I've bought my last brand new Harley....
I'm not impressed with these at all, but Im happy to see the Sportys have survived for now.
I like my Harleys to vibrate and wobble. Thats what they're for. I was keen to see the 2018 LRS, but obviously that is not to be.
Im a bit sad! lol.
