i have a 96 cube softail with a se air cleaner,race tuner vance & hinse straightshot pipes  just fitted a set of 551 s&s easystart cams the bike pulls like a fordson tractor but isn't running spot on will i need to have a new map by dealer any sensible  advise would be appreciated thanks forum members

to all of the above menbers thanks for responding  i lost  internet  for 4 days  so couldn't access  the fourm in that time spoke to the dealer about  remap he  told me that because its s&s 551 cam  they did not have map  to suit off the shelf  and you got to pay to play  ie possible 130 bucks  or we can stick it on the rollers 500 plus. but it will go better theres that tax again in terms of running out of  puff at 4500 Rpm i use the bike  for 2 up long distance with big saddle bags huge coast to coast windscreen  its set up as good as you can make asoftail for travel  my wife and me are not young or under weight  and before cam swap it use to struggle  in big wind we rode around australia up the guts  tassie  karumba  its always felt  a bit lacking  so i got the fucking stuipid idear cam change . maybe i could have traded it on a bagger  103 or 110  but promised my bike  when we rode around oz if it got me home theres a place in the shed always  plus i keep telling myself l'm not old enough  for a bagger yet ha  once again  thanks  and i'll post when i get it back  from shop

@ $500 I would be investing a good aftermarket ECU like a Thundermax with wideband O2 and autotune.

im not from that area mate but not that i know of... i am a fussy cunt but there is only 3 blokes in Australia id have tune a bike if i want it done properly

Thanks chriso, I'm bloody picky as well, would do it myself if I could.

There is the Harley dealer and one Indy up here, and neither inspire confidence with efi tuning, road test with wide band O2 sensor only, no dyno.

I have the Screaming Eagle race tuner TD302, having a go using it, and have changed the map and done several tuning cycles, getting there, but new to playing with efi maps.

Be nice if I could see what some good ones actually looked like :)
