Just had mine repaired under warranty 2015 Fat Bob, 13000 kms). 10 cent washer that takes three hours to swap out from go to end.
My questions are: is this just one of those things i.e. common? And can anything be done to prevent it?

    Thanks.

My 2015 FatBob has 39000 on it and no problems.

Sounds like it's not common, which is a good thing. Cheers blokes.

Sorry mate no pic -- done under warranty after I kept noticing a slow leak that culminated on the tranny drain plug but came from further inside. I believe it was an internal washer not related to the gear lever.
Most of the comments I read on US forums concerning the same issue were mostly 2007-2012 in age. The dealer said they do one of these fixes each week or so ... but if no one on here has had the issue perhaps not much of 'an issue'? It was the $300 in labour that caught my eye!

inner bearing race moving, get either a transmission fluid leak or primary fluid leak, quite common
