Guys, lately have had the security system (HFSM) not pick up the FOB, I have had the alarm go off a few times and had to enter the pin, other times just had to enter the pin.
Tried replacing FOB battery (only 6 months old) and using spare FOB, both with same result.
While giving the bike a clean and with the seat off, I noticed the HFSM module had come out of it's holder atop the battery and was hanging down between the battery and coil - still connected, so fitted it back up and was crossing fingers it was just a signal interference issue, nope...
Any ideas? The bike is booked in at the dealers to get checked, just wanted to gather some wisdom before then.
    Happened in different locations.
The only thing that has changed at home (RF wise) is a new NBN modem and keys aren't too far from it - could this be corrupting the FOB short term??
Went for a ride the other day after having to enter my pin, arrived at destination ~ 25" later and FOB worked as normal.

    cheers

Older post, but I had the same issues with my FOB, fitted a new battery, ok for a day or three, then nada again.

I opened it up (again) and cleaned the contact area on the circuit board and the contact prongs (for lack of a better word) and this helped, but again after a week, same crap.

Opened and cleaned again, but this time I bent the prongs up a little, this made them push up onto the battery harder, and I have never had an issue since then, I did the same on my spare FOB as well.

Just thought I would pass on what I found worked for me.
