Hey peeps,I want my 93 xlh 1200 sporty with the standard slip ons to be louder!!??...if I were to remove the slip ons all together and just run the pipes straight out,im guessing this will cause lack of power low end but way better sound? Or knock baffles out leave slip ons on and run that way..Just after ideas peeps..cheers

Don't do it. You'll attract the unwanted attention of the police, annoy your neighbours, scare the kiddies, make an ass of yourself in traffic and it'll do your head in on long trips. Leave as is. It's a nice looking bike.

Have look at something like these. I put Zodiac versions of these on my wife's Indian Scout and they sound great. Easy fit.
And you can get different baffle for them to adjust the sound.

Ride around nude if you want attention. But an electric guitar if you want loud but dont remove the mufflers or even the baffles in those mufflers. Try a different brand of pipe

id go the S&S slip ons, they look identical to standard, sound and perform excellent. You may need to adjust your fuel mix as well

Agree with using S&S mufflers.  It's great to see an early '90's Sporty that looks original.  Get better sound with the S&S mufflers but keep the original look.

To me it looks like you have Screamin eagle slip ons as i can see the SE on top of rear muff. if i'm right putting S&S slip on won't change much.
you could bath tub your stock heads if you know someone with experience. raise comp to 10.1 fit andrews n4 cams if you want to grunt to come in quicker fit a set of SE 1.75 ratio rockers ( like stock non roller ) that will improve the sound.
