Having a guess that as he is now convicted of the offence the other charges will be taken into account. My feeling is he is about to get a decent sentence. As he pleaded not guilty he is not entitled to a sentence discount, showing no remorse is frowned upon and the public interest needs satisfying the "justice is seemed to be done"

    Whats worst than Pell?
The king of the rockspiders in Romes pedaphile palace. The mongrel thing the catholics call a pope did not call for any priest to be defrocked and sacked if found guilty of sexual abuse at the cardinals 3 day love in the other day.
It dismays me that even after constant reporting of pedaphile priests around the world in many countries, the worlds populations in all these countries will not stand up to all catholics and outlaw this thing called the catholic church.
So Pell started this so called redress scheme. What rubbish. Its a scheme he started to do everything he could to protect the pedaphile organisation he belongs too. 7000 outstanding cases yet to be redressed and most never will be and still people in Australia support this catholic abomination

I just want to see him in jail without any 'special' privileges for the rest of his life, but I'm not confident it will happen.

If Pell gets out untill an appeal is held, will Pell have to wear an ankle tracking device as he is now a convicted
pedaphile. If Pell is allowed out untill appeal and doesnt have to wear an ankle tracking device, this will indicate to me that the presiding judge needs to be investigated for any possible links to the Catholic Church. Theres been too many cases of high ranking police who helped catholic bishops hide pedaphile priests thats been well reported many, many times over the last decade. Ex PM, John Howard gave Pell a good character reference telling the court what a good bloke Pell is. This is proof positive that Australians support the Catholic pedophile cult. What real chance do the child victims have when stinking maggots like Howard support convicted pedophiles rather than victims. Hopefully Pells conviction might inspire any other victims to come forward as its acknowledged that many victims dont come forward due in part to how their vilified by the Catholic Church supporters and torn apart by the unlimited ly funded Catholic legal people.

The second appeal against a custodial sentence was dropped after the court transcript revealed that Pell's SC had agreed with a gaol term being part of sentencing.

Mick, the Royal Commission found that while 61% of all congregational abuse was in the Catholic Churches, Catholic parishioners made up nearly 70% of all parishioners. Ergo, despite lower numbers of cases, abuse was proportionally even worse in other churches and institutions. All these grubs are getting off scot-free whilst the focus is on Pell/Catholicism. There's a load more work to be done here, all the poor bastards abused by the Scouts, Anglicans, State children's homes etc are being forgotten. That's the next wave...

Absolutely understand what your saying and where your comming from Nutty. I went to a catholic school in the 60s and early 70s. So i have a vested interest in seeing the downfall of the catholic church. My intelect cannot touch or understand how any Australian could identify as a catholic now we know the extent of abuse and church cover ups. I would have high respect for catholic priests if all they got charged with was knocking off donations to the church and sneaking off to a whorehouse and have sex with a consenting hooker of adult age. At least that would be forgivable. But i like the American response to catholic pedaphile priests. The litigation of pedaphile priests in America has caused many dioceses to go bankrupt and shut down. I would love to see Catholic dioceses in Australia have to shut down and cease operating like in America. Ok, doesnt mean the total annihilation of the Catholic church but its a bloody good start.

And that was a smart legal move for Pell....that offers him some small degree of leniency

Pell's defence team may ask for an exorcism in lieu of custody, quoting the pope, " its the work of Satan" fucking laughable if it was true.

I took the opportunity to read some of the evidence given at committal and then trial to have a clearer understanding of the offences.......umm i can see an appeal here. Does it prove he never committed the offences, absolutely not but certainly points to a defence of the conviction does not align with the facts/ evidence tendered.

    Human Nature.
First, theres a lot of commentators in the media who are telling us that the evidence against Pell doesnt stack up and Pell is inocent.
Thats rather a strange position to take as some of the evidence was in house only and no member of the public or media commentator had access to that evidence. Only the judge and jury did. Its non-sensical for anyone to say the jury got it wrong as they have no access to that evidence.
In any, if not all workplaces, if someone fucks up big time or does something really stupid, everyone in said workplace pretty much knows about it double quick time. Its human nature.
But I think Pells got off rather lightly in the scheme of things. Why?
Pell is not stupid nor a dummy. Someone who rises to the 3rd highest level and is promoted to look after the catholic churches finances is certainly no fool. Which means l find it more than likely that as he rose up through the ranks, he did know of pedaphile priests that had been moved on to other dioceses where they continued their sick trade against children. In one sense, that makes him even a worst maggot than the priests that  committed the abuse as he had the power to stop those priests and have them charged and defrocked, then kicked out of the church. He never ever did. Theres a lot more he has to answer for but unfortunately, never will.
Ive allways maintained that the kids right to be not sexually abused far outways Pell and his supporters not to prevent abuse and\or stop it when it happens. And im talking about kids, not some white collar crime commited by priests. Pell should name all the police who helped bishops cover-up pedophile priests and helped move them to another dioceses to continue the abuse. It doent mean he should get a reduced sentence, it just means he should stand up for the victims just once. But convicted pedophiles never do that. Its non-sensical for the catholic church to play the victim in child sexual abuse.
I never once did a dodgy electrical job im my life as an electrician, and one time i was asked by boss/the owner of the buisness to do dodgy work, l waited maybe 10 mins for that boss to piss off and l then drove my company ute home, rang boss and told him to stick his job up his arse and come get his ute which l parked on my nature strip with keys left in ignition. I gave him 1 hour to remove ute or ide have it towed. I dought l could of coped if ide done a dodgy job that caused injury or death by electrocution to anybody let alone a child. The point is if l can and have lived by that attitude the why couldnt all the non-pedophile priests, bishops, ect stop the abuse by pedophile priests. Its actally not hard to do the right thing and not cause potential harm to people in or out of the workplace whether its an electrician or a priest. Pell chose his abuse and covering up of others abusing just the same as l chose not to do dodgy electrical work in anyones home, factory or oil rig.
