Perhaps poor choice of words to use the word “ Head” in this context.....lol

Amazing isn't it all of a sudden he plays the I am sick trick. What utter con and shows just how miserable an organization the Catholic church and Vatican is. The legal system is just as much to blame for this fiasco as he should not be afforded this media blanket luxury.

I really wont be happy until he is actually behind bars and I sincerely hope he doesn't get one of these sweetheart deals where he does some sort of detention instead of actual jail time. And I wonder at what point the Catholic church cut him loose, ie no more financial support for legal fees etc and I assume he still resides on their premises

I have seen a catholic priest local to me convicted of historical child sex abuse only to play the old age health card suggesting be wasn't fit for jail. So now he's in a nursing home but it's not any old nursing home. It's five stars and looks out onto Sydney harbour. All paid for by the catholic Church. Even after they're convicted using the best lawyers that money can buy, the church still looks after them.

The missus actually called out a good point about the news gag.  It was related to protection of the witnesses and the prosecution case (Are we sure that it was the defence that called for the gag?).

The suppression order is intended to protect the integrity of future jury trial/s because Pell is facing further charges at court.
He is obviously very high profile. If his recent finding of guilt was publically reported, it would be very difficult to get a jury of 12 people that wouldn’t know about his recent finding of guilt and pre judge him. There’s no other reason for the suppression order in this case although at other times child and sexual assault matters suppress the name of the accused to protect the identity of the vulnerable victim. This isn’t the case with this matter as far as I know.

You are correct. The farcical thing about it is if you were a juror as soon as he walked into the court you would recognise him immediately anyway after seeing his face so often on tv and there goes your premise of innocence

Recognising him is one thing. Knowing he has been found guilty of a child sex offence is another

That’s just the point of this absurdity, it has been reported and is all over the world other than Australia. Every person with an internet connection now has access to news around the world
