Hi Guys im looking at cams for my 103ci street bob.
I was all set to get the andrews 57h and now the guy whos installing and tuning has said theyre not really right for my bike and that the lift is too much? i'm no tech guru so thought i'd double check.

He suggested the 37h and then another suggested the 48h and now im just lost.

    Cheers, Matt

The 57h is a higher lift version of the old 37 cam. The amount of lift with the 57 is definitely not an issue for your 103 heads. The 57h is a good midrange cam and was purposely designed for stock 103 engines. The 48 is also a good cam but more of a low-mid cam. Guys with heavy touring bikes or who ride 2 up often are suited to the 48 for the strong torque right off idle. . But for your dyna the 57h will work well and would be preferred over the similar but older designed 37 cam.

Quickee pushrods by s&s are commonly used and very reliable. Any adjustable push rod will save tank and head removal. They were used on my last twin cam with 585 lift cams using oem valve springs. Never any problems and bike still going strong as I know the current owner.
Don't just take my word on this advice re cams and push rods. Others will chime in and lots and lots of builds and discussion with these cams and pushrods on stock twin cams on the Yankee forums which have good text searching capability.

    Good luck.

Get new lifters too. S&s lifters are good

Have 57H cams in my 2013 street bob with the Screamin' Eagle Tapered  pushrod kit & Feuling lifters.
I sent Andrews an email before i bought them to get their recommendation.

I do have the heads off my bike at the moment as i had the valve guides replaced but i doubt the cams were the reason for the excessive clearance.
The cams went in with about 8000km on the odometer and the bike has nearly 30,000km on it now.

Nah different shop. Mine is an indy working from a home workshop in south Canberra.
I don't think you could go wrong with any of those adjustable pushrod options. Pair up with s&s lifters and any of those Andrews cams and you'd be a happy camper. Key is a good dyno tune afterwards

The 54 will want higher compression than stock. It'll work in a stock 103 but be noticeably softer in the lower revs where most of us ride. The 57 was designed as Andrews' bolt-in cam for midrange on a stock 103.

i went with the MR103 S&S cam which is mid range.. sounds amazing and can defiantly feel the difference.. the other cams I found kick in at high rpm.. I don't like reving the guts out of my bike hence why I went for these... very very happy with my choice.. I also did the easy fit pushrods and lifters...
