Compliance Basics - US Import

Folks, i'm after a little advice on what I need to do to prep my bike for when i bring it back home to Australia as a personal import, or if i'll get slugged the average $2.5k that i've seen tossed around anyway, regardless. Been trawling the forums and checked out http://geezers.com.au per one of the threads, so have some idea, just after your experience/thoughts.
It's a 2014 FLSTN, 103, ABS, California model, Chrome lowers, Freedom Performance true duals, S&S cleaner, 16" apes & Dynojet Power Vision Tuner. Apart from that, it's bog stock. Softbrake licence relocater, Le  Pera/mustang or some other low profile seat, custom dynamic LEDs all around (probably clear lenses for turning & smoke tombstone) and their triple play module in the pipeline.

Just thinking what i should do to minimise the financial pain before i ship:
amber lens covers - no biggie
pipes.....guess i should whack on the stockies?
bars....do i need to change these to stock?
    dual kmh/mph speedo?
compliance will then do the fluids, lines and tyres right?
    Anything else?

Is it worth doing as much prep before, or just fork out the going rate?

    thanks for input....

Another shop to speak to is Iron Motorcycles in Caringbah.  They bring in a heap from the US and can advise you of the process.

arjay ,cutting thru' all the unnecessary bullshit posted in this thread

Yes , you will need the stock OEM exhaust

Yes , the stock handlebars ( and probably stock brake hoses/cables etc etc to suit )

Yes , the stock lights and lenses as well

    Yes , you will need a Km/H speedo ONLY ( miles and Km/H won't do !)

The "compliancing centre" will do the tyres and brake pads AND "RHD" HEADLIGHT as a matter of course assuming you have the above in order. They do not ordinarily do brake hoses as part of the RAWS scheme

I do a bit of work for the Compliance centre near me in Perth WA , and can put you in touch with him if you wish. He does do bikes that go east thereafter.

He would also be a good contact for shipping to Fremantle WA

PM me if you need contact details ( then you can ASK him about the bars and cables etc etc !)
