Mini footboard install on late model Sportster with offset clevis mount

I recently bought a set of mini footboards for the Sporty.  On going to install them I realised they wouldn't fit because my bike has the annoying offset clevis mount for the pegs.  I can't really understand why they've changed the peg mounts.  This new system seems to be on the newer 48, 72 and also Customs as well.  Anyway, after reading a few posts of similar stories it was time to get the grinder out and shave off around 6mm of the extended mount at the front.  Doing this doesn't affect the strength of the peg mount as the rear one is still shorter.  Just annoying having to do this mod if you want to change out your pegs on a late model Sporty.  I've provided pictures below in case anyone else needs some more info on this mod.
These boards are really well made and have an adjustable centre spline, which allows for very fine angle adjustment.  They come in small and large.  the large ones (which I got) extend the rubber top by about 20mm out the back (see last two pics).

Stock peg with the offset peg mount, you can see that the front part of the mount is longer than the back:

Peg mount ground off and rounded at the top to allow the new pegs to flip up:

This shows you how much you need to shave off if you want to use pegs that have a wide base:

Those mini footboards are a handy bit of kit for longer rides.

Interesting Kingchops. Do they impact the ground clearance much or your use of the gear lever/brake?
They look good on your bike.

Goodo, just for anyone reading along there is another option. I changed the pegs out on the Rocker for the same reason as you, numb feet on longer rides. To still have the tiny bit of ground clearance that the Rocker comes with i used switchblade pegs.

As per request, see below, the level I've set my foot boards at.  Even though I've got them at two different angles, I find I can rest my foot on the brake foot board and easily just push forward to get to the brake, rather than having to lift my foot.

They look good. I’m tempted to try a set on mine ... my foot pegs are nearly worn away.
