Just seeing what shoes last the longest for your dollar. I skidded my new Nike Shox i bought from Hawaii for US $200 and they only lasted 13klms. Quite a rip off for the price! I bought some slip-ons from Best and Lest and i broke my leg 3klms into the ride and needed an ambulance as i caught my shoe on a gutter. My thongs lasted 5klms but i tore my MCL in my left knee. I tried some Blundstone Gumboots and they lasted 35klms - which was impressive, but very hard work - but i have now been told i have torn my meniscus in my right knee and need surgery. Has anyone else ridden with their shoes along the tarmac (without braking and gear changes of course) and what are the longest lasting shoes for the dollar? I think i will try steel capped boots next and drag my legs instead of trying to keep them straight out in-front of me as i am having trouble walking and holding up my bike.
