Hey guys,

2008 XL883, brake light constantly on.

Symptoms:

1. Both globe filaments constantly on.
2. Front brake when pulled in, the rear light flickers.
3. Rear brake when pressed, nothing.

Pretty sure when I bought the bike, it failed RWC for the same (or similar issue) with the brake light, which turned out to be the foot brake switch...

Given symptom 2 and 3, leaning towards being a switch and not wiring?? Other ideas?

Update

Looks like there's a little vertical play in the front brake lever and if I apply a light pressure upwards on the lever the brake light goes out, and I can then play with the foot brake which operates the brake light correctly.

Pull the front brake lever out and re-assemble?

Take your foot or fingers off the brake bud!
