Start 93 wide Glide without key

    Hi 
    I have a 93 wide Glide that the previous owner had lost the key .
    When we spoke to the Shop about getting replacement he tried telling us we shouldn't be able to start it with out the key.
    But I would have thought you would unlock the ignition the remove the key so your keys aren't banging around on your tank
    Am I right or not

    You're spot on. Unlock the ignition, pull the key out and start her up. The only way you couldn't start it without the key is if the ignition was locked. The key also unlocks the fork lock.

    Yeah we have spoken to a locksmith 
    Only about $40 to make a key for us
    And then get a couple of extras cut
    The numpty at the Harley shop tried to tell us it can't be started without the key being in the ignition

    Tell the Genitor to get back out the back and stay off the front desk.

    What a knobhead. Its literally a 10 minute job to change the whole ignition swith if need be.
